Prepare to Train – Know YOUR BODY to Maximize the Effectiveness of Your Training

Limited on training time?  Are you training efficiently, effectively with the time you have?  Here is your chance to find out.   Utilizing the Human and Sport Performance Lab at the U of M, come find clear, accurate training zones for you – and learn how to apply them to your training.  Maximize the time you have to train in 2012!  Day will include Vo2 testing, lactate tests, water body-comp test, complete training zones and special seminar/presentation on Strength training and peroidization for the endurance athlete.

SISU’s Newest Program for Athlete Development: D-Team

SISU has introduced it’s newest program designed to develop the next generation of ski racers, the SISU D-Team.  An informational meeting will be held Saturday March 31, 11am, at the CONWAY Rec Center.  Coaches, as well as Program Director Jason Kask, will be on hand to answer questions and outline the details of the program.

SISU Cloths: “A New Look”

Need some gear to workout in?  Along with our new partner Hidden Bay, SISU has created a wide variety of workout cloths: Jackets, warmup pants, vests, bike and run gear as well as ski suits.  Order directly from Hidden Bay (manufactured in Hayward, WI) and have it delivered right to your door.  It will be a Look Good – Feel Good – Do Good Workout from here forward!  The online “store” will be open until April 2 to order.  Items will be delivered in mid-May.

Learn-2-Ski Class Schedule Finalized

Want to learn to ski, or ski a bit more efficiently?   SISU’s “Fundamentals of Skiing” (aka Learn-2-Ski) classes are designed to help the beginner to intermediate skier get comfortable on skis.  Classes meet once a week for 5 weeks and offer an opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of skiing.  More info: info@sisuskiers.org | 651.964.8442

Adult Fall-Winter Ski Programs

Snow will be flying before you know it!  A complete lineup of adult Fall-Winter classes are on tap aimed at a full range of skiers BEGINNER to ADVANCED.  Groups meet for 20-22 sessions beginning in October with basic dryland, strength, balance, flexibility and technique work being the focus.  Once snow flies, everything from the basic ski  fundamentals to injury prevention and elite training components are covered (for appropriate levels of skiers).  Classes are all over the metro – so find one close to you.  Each evening classes meet, participants are broken into groups of similar ability with a qualified coach to lead the way.  Get your friends – a great way to be active, get fit and have fun!!!  WE HAVE STARTED  – BUT WE STILL SOME OPENINGS IN FALL-WINTER CLASSES – REGISTER TODAY!!

Additionally, a full schedule of  Learn-2-Ski Classes and Nordic Hiking classes will be offered at nights and during the day.  Call or write for a complete schedule or for more information.
