We caught up with new SISU coach Jeremy Hecker and asked some important questions on skiing and coaching. After racing at Andover High School, Jeremy competed for the College of St. Scholastica from 2010-2013. He qualified for the NCAA Championships twice, recording the college’s best finish of 11th in 2013. He has previously worked in Canmore, Alberta and is excited to return to the Twin Cities ski scene. The Y-Team is the Sisu Foundation’s Youth Team. The mission of the Y-Team is to create an opportunity for children ages 9-13 to have fun engaging in outdoor endurance activities. Through skill development, games, and play based training these youth will develop a passion for the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle. This passion and the skills they develop will help them, if they choose, to become successful endurance athletes as they grow older.
Off-season classes will focus on fun and engaging strength-building games, skiing technique, and laying the foundation for endurance and stamina. This will allow them to readily develop into strong skiers as they become older.
2013-14 Y-Team programming for spring, summer and fall is set!!! The winter program details will be outlined and up later this summer as we enter fall. All the info you need below -
