Sisu Nordic Ski Foundation has an incredibly talented and experienced team of coaches to led the junior skiers.


Jason Kask

Jason Kask

Jason Kask Jason Kask , a Duluth native, is a recent addition to the SISU staff. After high school he attended the College of St. Scholastica where he continued to compete in both skiing and running. After graduation Jason worked with the Duluth Rowing Club and then assisted the College of St. Scholastica’s Ski Team in 2008. Jason completed his masters in applied kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and exercise science at the University of Minnesota in August of 2011. In September of 2011, Jason was hired by USA Triathlon’s High Performance Department to prepare athletes for the London Olympic games.


Michael Nightingale

Michael Nightingale

Michael Nightingale (Program Director) is in his fifth year with SISU. Mike was an elite skier before coaching the Division I ski teams of St. Lawrence University, St. Olaf College and Carleton for close to a decade. No matter what level, he loves helping skiers reach their full potential.


Ben Popp

Ben Popp

Ben Popp is in his seventh year with  Sisu Skiers. He has coached for over 15 years and enjoys coaching high school beginners as much as he enjoys coaching National Champion ski teams. Ben has coached the ski teams of Carleton, Saint Mary’s, and Visitation. He has the energy and enthusiasm to motivate anyone.


Bruce Fielder

Kevin Brochman

Kevin Brochman, Coaches Juniors and Masters for Sisu. Before coaching, Kevin was a member on the 1984 and 1988 US Olympic Teams as well as the 1989 US World Championship Team. In 1998 he was an Olympic Team coach for the US in Nagano, and in 2001, a World Junior Team coach for the US. Besides coaching for Sisu, Kevin is currently the head coach of the Roseville High School Nordic Ski Team.
